Chatham Library issues caution about its old web address

Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham Public Library urges people to access its website through its current web address: and to remove any links to the previous website address that it had shared with Alamance County as a regional system.

“This is critically important because the previous website address or domain name has been purchased by a private group that is now publishing what many would view as offensive, adults-only materials,” said Linda Clarke, library director. “We had expected that the old domain name would not be in use by another group for at least a year, but it has already been purchased by another party.”

Clarke asked all individuals who have bookmarked the library’s website and any organizations that have posted a link to the Chatham Library to make sure that they are using the website address listed above. “This is especially critical if you have children with access to your computer or who frequently visit your website.”
