[Jan. 25, 2013] On Thursday, February 7, the Chatham Economic Development Corporation (EDC) will host a joint meeting with the Chatham County Board of Commissioners, the town boards of Goldston, Pittsboro, and Siler City, and the Board of Education to provide an update on work to develop a countywide conceptual land use plan.

[Jan. 15, 2013] With the arrival of 2013, Chatham County residents can expect to receive their 2013 property tax listing notices in the next few days. The Chatham County Tax Office has mailed annual listing notices to residents, according to Tax Administrator Frances Wilson. Any Chatham County property owners not receiving their listing forms by Friday, Jan. 4, should contact the Tax Office immediately at 919-542-8250.

[Jul. 30, 2012] The Chatham County Council on Aging and Piedmont Health Services invite residents to a free series of talks scheduled for July 25 to Dec. 13 on health aging topics, such as nutrition, home and community resources and medication. The talks at the Eastern Chatham Senior Center in Pittsboro are open to people of all ages. Piedmont Health’s Moncure Community Health Center will provide speakers and meals for the events.

[Jul. 29, 2012] With the recent statewide reorganization of community mental health programs, Chatham County's commissioners must appoint three people to an advisory board that will serve Chatham, Orange and Person counties. The deadline to apply is August 3, 2012. This three-county area is called the OPC (Orange-Person-Chatham) Community Operations Center and is part of a larger 15-county regional mental health authority called Cardinal Innovations Healthcare Solutions.

[Jun. 29, 2012] The Town of Pittsboro passed a budget that raised town property taxes by six cents per $100 of accessed value. The new rate will go up to 0.3673 per $100 of assessed value. This represents a 20 percent property tax increase.
