Chatham County investigates former employee[Mar. 4, 2006] Based on findings from the State Auditor’s Office released to the county Wednesday, the Chatham County Manager’s Office asked the Sheriff’s Department to investigate a former county employee for allegations related to accepting gifts from a now-defunct cleaning supply vendor.

County updates residents on solid waste decal delays[Feb. 13, 2006] Due to unexpected weather-related delays from the decal printing company, Chatham County Waste Management Department reports that the distribution of the new waste collection center decals has been delayed until Monday, Feb. 20. “It is important to note that the delay in the decals is not a current problem for residents, because there is a grace period until April 30, said Robert Holden, director of the Waste Management Department.

Chatham Planning Board minutes - 9/06/05[Jan. 11, 2006] The Chatham County Planning Board met in regular session on the above date in the auditorium of the Cooperative Extension Building in Pittsboro, North Carolina. A quorum was present to begin the meeting.
Misenheimer named interim Pittsboro manager[Jan. 10, 2006] Pittsboro's Board of Commissioners agreed Monday to hire Samuel Misenheimer as the interim town manager. Misenheimer, previously the assistant city manager of Concord, starts today. He will fill the position left open by David Hughes, who resigned last month.
Chatham hopes to balance budget without tax increase[Jan. 5, 2006] The Chatham County Board of Commissioners agreed this week to try to balance the county's 2006-07 budget without raising taxes. The board voted last year to raise the tax rate by 4 cents per $100 of assessed property value, which allowed it to take on more debt without raising taxes in the near future.
