Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham Social Health Council will be offering free, rapid, confidential HIV testing at Main Street Station near the Hardee's and Piggly Wiggly in Pittsboro every Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting on June 23. This test uses no needles, no blood, and no pain: it's an oral swab, and results come back in 20 minutes. The address of the office is 287 East Street, Suite 221, in the Chatham Counseling Center. No appointment is necessary, but you are welcome to call ahead of time and make an appointment at (919) 542-4422.
Also on Monday the 23, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Council will be offering free rapid tests in the Pittsboro Village community, off of Old Graham, at 120 Honeysuckle Drive. Testing will take place in the office.
On Tuesday the 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Nature Trail trailer community, there will be free testing in the recreation room across from the office.
National HIV Testing Day is Friday, June 27. We will be offering free, rapid, confidential HIV testing from 9-1 on Friday, along with refreshments, condoms, and other goodies. Anyone who comes in to get tested will get a free t-shirt, and peace of mind that their HIV status is known! No appointment is necessary. Our office is located at 401B N.
