Pittsboro, NC - Chatham County residents can learn more about local agencies that provide an array of services to meet the needs of families and individuals by attending the Community Resource Fair on Wednesday, May 6, from 2 to 5 pm.

Hosted by Chatham County Social Services, the fair is free and will be held at Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro in the Multipurpose Room in Building #2. The campus is located on the west side of Pittsboro on US 64 Business.

“We sponsor the fair to better connect community members with agencies that can help meet their needs,” said Angela Stalker from Social Services. “During these difficult financial times, it is especially important to let residents know what resources are available to help them.”

The event will include a chance for residents to talk with agency representatives. It also will feature goodie bags, door prizes and refreshments.

Stalker said that service agencies should contact her to host a table at the fair. “This is a great opportunity for agencies to get the word out to the public about what they offer and to find out what other agencies do. Sometimes a provider cannot meet a specific need, but they may find out that another agency provides that service.”

Participating agencies must set up their tables between 1 and 2 pm, before the event opens to the public at 2 pm. Agencies interesting in hosting a table should contact Angela Stalker at 919-642-6940.
