Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution at its April 21 meeting honoring Dianne Reid, president of Chatham Economic Development Corporation, for being a recipient of the Triangle Business Journal’s 2014 Women in Business Award.
In making the presentation, Commissioner Chairman Walter Petty presented the resolution, which stated that Reid had played a key role in several major economic development achievements in the past two years, including:
· The addition of 1,177 jobs, an increase of 270 percent over the previous two years;
· An increase of 600 percent in business capital investment over the previous two years; and
· The development of two economic development megasites that likely will be the first two certified megasites in the entire state.
The resolution acknowledged that Keith Hurand from Newland Real Estate Group had nominated Reid for the Triangle Business Journal’s Women in Business Award. Hurand said that Reid is “one of the most proactive, forward-thinking and creative business people I know.”
The Board of Commissioners congratulated Reid on the regional award, which recognized her success in promoting effective public policies to spur economic growth.
