Pittsboro, NC - On February 7, Chatham County's Water Utilities office moved to a new location on the second floor of 964 East Street in Pittsboro, a county building that also houses the YMCA on the first floor. The move is required due to construction of the new County Judicial Center which will require removal of the current utility office.

To access the Water Utilities office on the second floor, either use the outside elevator (next to Flamingo's Restaurant) or use the stairs in the front door lobby.

"We remind customers that they can continue to pay their water bills by mail or in person at the Tax Office in the County Annex Building in Pittsboro," said Utilities Director Leonard McBryde. The annex building, located on the south side of the Pittsboro traffic circle, also has a payment drop box in the parking area.

The Utilities Office will continue to use the same postal address: P. O. Box 910, Pittsboro, NC 27312.

McBryde noted that some new or existing customers do periodically have to visit the Utility Office in person, such as those opening new accounts. The Utility Office staff will be in the process of moving on Feb. 3-4, so call 919-542-8270 if you need to visit the office during the moving dates.
