PITTBORO, NC - Chatham Trades, a nonprofit partner of Chatham County government, provides employment and training for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Chatham Trades seek residents from all parts of the county to fill one of several vacancies on its Board of Directors.
The Chatham Trades Board of Directors typically meet quarterly, but sometimes have a special meeting as needed. Meetings are usually after working hours on Tuesdays and are open to the public.
While Chatham Trades is located in Siler City, the nonprofit serves the entire county. The nonprofit especially needs residents from the eastern part of the county and Pittsboro as well as representatives of racial and ethnic minority groups.
The Board of Directors currently has seven members, with the potential for four to eight more members. One new member will be appointed by the Chatham County Board of Commissioners, while the other members will be selected by the Chatham Trades Board of Directors.
People interested in serving on the Board of Directors should complete the Chatham County Volunteer Board & Committee application form no later than Friday, May 1, 2015.
