Pittsboro, NC - Chatham County has two vacancies on its Recreation Advisory Committee, which advises the Board of Commissioners and staff on recreation programs and county-owned recreation and park facilities. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 15, 2015, and county commissioners likely would make the appointment in June.
The vacancies are assigned to two county commissioner districts (District 3 and District 4), but all interested residents should apply. To view a map of the commissioner districts and an application to serve, visit www.chathamnc.org and use the Quick Links box at the top right to select Board & Committee Application.
The person appointed to the vacancy assigned to County Commissioner District 3, mostly in the central part of the county, would have a full three-year term expiring June 30, 2018.
The vacant seat for County Commissioner District 4 in the northwestern part of the county has two remaining years, so that seat would expire June 30, 2017. The appointee to that seat would be eligible for a full three-year term at the end of their first term.
The Recreation Advisory Committee typically meets eight to ten times a year on the third Wednesdays of the month at 7 pm in Pittsboro.
