Chatham health director resigns

Chatham County is looking for a new health director.

Dorothy Cilenti, who has served in the role for the last three years, will become the Alamance County health director on March 1.

Applications are being accepted for the Chatham health director position, with Feb. 25 as the closing date for applications.

The position announcement states that the director "directs and manages a total staff of 98 employees with an annual budget of $5.4 million. The health director is responsible for the overall operation of the Health Department to include planning, organizing, implementing, directing, evaluating, and providing leadership in a variety of health programs including clinical services, health education, environmental health, animal control, public health preparedness and surveillance and family outreach and support."
