Chatham Deputies arrest robbery suspect after foot chase

Chatham County Deputies arrested a robbery suspect early Saturday morning after a brief foot chase in a wooded area near Dowd Hill Drive in the Bear Creek area. Deputies received a call in reference to a Burglary and Robbery that occurred at the suspect’s father’s home located at 1979 Alton King Road in Gulf. James Sloan reported that at approximately 1:00 AM on Saturday morning the suspect, Jason Sloan, 25, broke into his residence and demanded money. Mr. Sloan gave his son $90.00 in cash. Jason Sloan then left and was apprehended in a wooded area near his residence located at 320 Dowd Hill Drive shortly after 7:00 AM the same morning.

Sloan is the 4th suspect arrested by the Sheriff’s Office for robbery in the last 4 days. Sloan was jailed under a $25,000.00 secured bond and his court date is February 3.
