Chatham County seeks residents to fill vacant seats

The Chatham County Board of Commissioners is seeking citizens who are interested in promoting public health to fill a Veterinarian Seat, a Professional Engineer Seat, and two (2) Public Seats on the Chatham County Board of Health. Terms are effective July 1, 2005. Applicants must be residents of Chatham County. Applicants for the Veterinarian and Professional Engineer seats are required to have current licensure.

The Chatham County Board of Health is the policy-making, rule-making and adjudicatory body for the local county Health Department. The Board of Health’s responsibility is to protect and promote the health of the community.

Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each month beginning at 6 p.m. with dinner provided and reimbursement for mileage.

The Board of Commissioners asks that qualified applicants complete a Volunteer Application form, which can be obtained from the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners at 542-8200 or at Applications must be submitted to the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners before May 31, 2005.
