Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham County Solid Waste & Recycling Division reminds residents that a 2014 Decal is required to use any of the 12 County Collection Centers beginning March 1. This year March 1 falls on a Saturday, so the Main Solid Waste & Recycling Office will not be open to provide last day assistance.
Residents are encouraged to begin using their 2014 decals as soon as they receive them in the mail. If you have not yet received your 2014 decals, please call the Solid Waste & Recycling Division at 919-542-5516 or check with your landlord if you are a renter.
Decals can be affixed to the bottom left corner of your windshield or can be shown to the attendant on duty each time you enter a Collection Center. Additional decals are available for purchase through the Solid Waste & Recycling Division for $10 per set.
As a reminder, Collection Centers give county residents a place to deposit of household trash and recyclables, but you must have a current decal to do so. Businesses and out-of-county residents are prohibited.
Decals are issued to property owners in unincorporated Chatham County who pay the Solid Waste Fee as part of their county property tax bills, which were due Jan. 6, 2014.
Town residents living in the corporate limits of Cary, Goldston, Pittsboro, or Siler City who want access to the services at the Collection Centers may purchase decals by paying the Solid Waste Fee through the Chatham County Solid Waste & Recycling Division.
