CHATHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REGULAR MEETING AGENDA

9:10 AM CONSENT AGENDA

The Board of Commissioners uses a Consent Agenda to act on non-controversial and routine items quickly. The Consent Agenda is acted upon by one motion and vote of the Board. Items may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda at the request of a Board member or citizen. The Consent Agenda contains the following items:

1. Minutes: Consideration of a request for approval of Board Minutes for regular meeting held February 20, 2006 and work session held February 20, 2006

2. Road Names: Consideration of a request from citizens to approve the naming of private roads in Chatham County as follows:

A. Burnette Mountain Lane
B. James Road
C. Add Road
D. Rocky Road
E. Mikayla Lane

3. Fiscal Year 2005-2006 Budget Amendments: Consideration of a request to approve Fiscal Year 2005-2006 Budget Amendments (Attachments: Proposed Amendments-Addition/reduction of Funds, Proposed Special Revenue Fund Amendments, Memorandum on Transfer of Contingency Funds)

4. Haw River Trail Memorandum of Understanding: Consideration of a request to approve the Haw River Trail Memorandum of Understanding (Attachments: Memorandum)

5. Mowing Services Contracts: Consideration of a request to approve contracts for mowing of County-owned properties 1) Phil Marsh d/b/a G.G. Marsh for Waste Management Properties; and 2) Collins Landscaping Maintenance for public building properties and water utilities properties

6. DSS Contract: Consideration of a request to approval contract for mediation services with Deep River Mediation (Attachment: Deep River Contract)

7. Debt Write-Off for Central Permitting Department: Consideration of a request to approve a debt write-off for the Central Permitting Department

9:15 AM PUBLIC INPUT SESSION

The Public Input Session is held to give citizens an opportunity to speak on any item, which does not appear on the day’s Agenda. The session is no more than fifteen minutes long and speakers are limited to no more than three minutes each. Speakers are required to sign up in advance. Individuals who wish to speak but cannot because of time constraints will be carried to the next meeting and given priority. No individual may speak more than one time in any three-month period. We apologize for the tight time restrictions. They are necessary to ensure that we complete our business. If you have insufficient time to finish your presentation, we welcome your comments in writing.

8. Scheduling of Public Hearing on Copeland Request: Consideration of a request to schedule another public hearing on a request by William R. Copeland for a Conditional Use permit for eating and drinking establishments on 5.6 acres, located at northwest quadrant of the intersection of US Highway #64 and Big Woods Road in New Hope Township

9. Mid Carolina Workforce Development Board: Consideration of a request to appoint a member to the Mid-Carolina Workforce Development Board by Commissioner Outz (1) (Attachment: List)

10. Recreation Advisory Board: Consideration of a request to appoint one (1) member to the Recreation Advisory Board by Commissioner Barnes (Attachment: List)

9:55 AM MANAGER’ S REPORTS

11. Manager’s Reports: The County Manager shall report on miscellaneous County business at this time.

10:00 AM COMMISSIONERS’ REPORTS

12. Commissioners’ Reports: Any Commissioner wishing to report on any County business may do so at this time.
