Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham County Board of Commissioners will meet on Monday, December 13 at the Chatham Community library in Pittsboro, NC at 6 p.m.

INVOCATION and PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

 

CALL TO ORDER

PROVAL OF AGENDA and CONSENT AGENDA

The Board of Commissioners uses a Consent Agenda to act on non-controversial and routine items quickly. The Consent Agenda is acted upon by one motion and vote of the Board. Items may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda at the request of a Board member or citizen. The Consent Agenda contains the following items:

Minutes: Approval of Board Minutes for Regular Meeting held on November 15,2010 and December 6, 2010

Tax Releases and Refunds: Approval of a request to approve the tax releases and refunds

Naming of Private Road in Chatham County: Approval of a request to name private road in Chatham County as follows: Samantha Lane

Chatham County Communication Center Radio System Replacement: Approval of replacement of radio system in the Chatham County Communication Center to purchase Motorola MCC5500 Conventional Dispatch console from Motorola and a Motorola ACE3600 Scada System and approval of installation of both systems from Wireless Communications, Inc., funds from 911 to be used (Letters from Motorola #1 and #2)

PUBLIC INPUT SESSION


Public Input Session is held to give citizens an opportunity to speak on any item, which does not appear on the day’s Agenda. The session is no more than thirty minutes long and speakers are limited to no more than three minutes each. Speakers are required to sign up in advance. Individuals who wish to speak but cannot because of time constraints will be carried to the next meeting and given priority. We apologize for the tight time restrictions. They are necessary to ensure that we complete our business. If you have insufficient time to finish your presentation, we welcome your comments in writing.

presentation of a Resolution Honoring the Service of Andrew Siegner, III

 

Session Law 2010-177: Consideration to adopt “Resolution of the Chatham

County Board of Commissioners Rescinding a Resolution Adopted November

15, 2010 Opting Out of the Fourth Year of the Permit Extension Act Of 2009”

 

Judicial Center Financing: Adoption of resolution to proceed with obtaining

interim financing to construct and equip the Chatham County Judicial Center and

set January 3, 2011 as the public hearing date to receive public comments on the

proposed borrowing (Resolution)

 

Pay for Performance Increases: Consideration to approve Pay for Performance


bonuses earned in FY 2008-2009 to eligible employees. Bonuses will be given in

two parts- first part will be given on or before December 23, 2010

 

MANAGER’ S REPORTS



 

Manager’s Reports: The County Manager shall report on miscellaneous County business at this time.

 

COMMISSIONERS’ REPORTS


Commissioners’ Reports: Any Commissioner wishing to report on any County

business may do so at this time.

Work Session

To held in the Chatham Community Library prior to the Regular Meeting 2:00 PM


Guidance on the County’s Nonprofit Allocation Process: Guidance to staff

on the County’s nonprofit process, including overall level of funding, funding for

administration, and other changes (Attachments: A, B, C, D, E and presentation)


Judicial Center ADA Compliant: The Board of Commissioners will be

discussing the new judicial facility in the context of ADA compliance issues. The

facility as currently designed will be compliant with ADA requirements. If we

exceed the requirements and provide access on a level directed recently by the

Board of Commissioners, we anticipate additional costs to be in the range of

$250,000 if automatic push buttons are applied to all doors accessed by the

public. Staff is requesting Board direction on the issue

Western Wake Partners: Consideration of a request by Western Wake Partners to acquire easements in Chatham County for effluent pipeline

Landfill Update: Staff will give the Board of Commissioners background on the feasibility study and the status of work completed to date

Zoning Board of Adjustment Oaths: The Board of Commissioners is to be sworn in as the Board of Adjustments


Board Member Liaisons to Boards and Committees of Chatham County: The Board of Commissioners will be discussing liaisons and member roles to the various boards and committees of Chatham County
