Silk Hope, NC - The Chatham County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is hosting a joint meeting of the Board of Commissioners, the town boards of Goldston, Pittsboro and Siler City, and the Board of Education to discuss economic development in the county.

The meeting, open to the public, is scheduled for 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the newly opened Silk Hope Community Building at 4221 Silk Hope Road.

The EDC hosts joint board meetings periodically to share information and address issues of common concern to the county’s elected officials. At the upcoming meeting, the chair of the Board of Commissioners, the mayors of the three towns, the school superintendent and the president of Central Carolina Community College will update the group on recent developments.

Another joint meeting of elected boards will be scheduled in January 2011 to officially welcome three newly-elected county commissioners.

For more information, contact Dianne Reid, president of the Chatham County Economic Development Corporation, at 542-8274 or info@chathamedc.org.
