Siler City, NC - On April 15 and 16 Siler City Elementary School celebrated an International Cultural Fair in which all of the students had the opportunity to learn about the cultures and their community customs such as costumes, traditional outfits, crafts, traditional foods, fauna and flora, and their flags.

In addition, the kindergarten and second grade dual language immersion classes led the exhibition about Colombia, United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Brazil, sharing cultural displays with the school community as songs, lectures, video, and dance.

“The community could participate in an exposition about Colombia, United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Brazil. It was wonderful to see how children enjoyed and felt proud of their own cultures”, said teacher Sandra Salazar.

“Thank you so much for providing SCE with an AWESOME International Fair! It was a joy to watch,” said teacher Nikki Murchison.

“The SCE International Fair was a great tool to promote diversity, and make students reflect on their parents culture as well as learn about them,” said teacher Gertrudis Paredes.
