Chatham County Schools Exceptional Children’s program will be destroying non-current records

Pittsboro, NC - Chatham County Schools hereby is giving notice that the Exceptional Children’s Program will be destroying non-current records in accordance with federal and state policy. This message is for students born between August 15, 1982 and August 15, 1983 that received Exceptional Children's Program (EC) services while attending Chatham County Schools or parents or guardians of those students.

Records may contain information useful for social security benefits or other purposes.

If a copy of the record is desired a written request should be submitted to the address below within 90 days of this publication. Please include the student's name, date of birth, current phone number, last school at which they received EC services and address to which the record should be mailed. The request must be signed by the former student (18 years or older) or legal guardian.
