Silk Hope, NC - Students at Silk Hope School are participating in a program called "Reading Rocks" that serves as a reading fundraiser to raise money for the Silk Hope PTA. Money raised will be used to support school projects and instructional needs.

To spark the students' excitement about reading, on Friday, February 18, the staff took part in a "Reading Rocks Kickoff" filled with singing, dancing, and of course, reading.

Students and parents work together to secure pledges from family and friends for the amount of time students spend reading during the week. Students complete a signed reading log to record the number of minutes they spend reading daily. Students are eligible to win daily prizes for each day of the week they read during the week of February 28-March 4. The grand prize winner who raises the most money for the school will receive an iPod Nano.
