Pollard Middle School students participate in Region III Envirothon

Pittsboro, NC - The Margaret B. Pollard Envirothon Team participated in the Region III Envirothon at Elon University on Thursday, March 24. Envirothon is an extra-curricular environmental education program sponsored by the Soil and Water Conservation Districts. The curriculum covers aquatics, soils, forestry, wildlife, and current environmental issues.

The following students participated in the program: Emma Caison, Frances Beroset, Ryan Harradine, Jack Dalton, Aiden Williams, Cameron Underwood, Matt Streets, Eric Franklin, Zachary Barnett, Jeffrey Duncan, Zoe Kaegi, Trenton Sobczak, Kaily McGurk, and Drew Hempel. Two of the three Pollard teams will advance to State Competition at Cedar Rock Park in Burlington on April 29-30.

"I am very proud of our Envirothon students. The curriculum covers a lot of valuable material that will help prepare them to be good stewards of the environment. Congratulations to all team members for their hard work and commitment," said Dawn Streets, seventh and eighth grade Social Studies teacher/Envirothon Sponsor.
