Perry Harrison School announces science fair winners

Pittsboro, NC - The Perry Harrison School Science Fair was held on Tuesday, January 16, with students entering approximately ninety projects. The school hosted an open house on Wednesday, January 17, until 7:00 p.m. to allow parents and students the opportunity to view the projects..

"We had some very thoughtful and creative projects. I was very impressed with the effort that was put into each one,” commented Dawn Streets, a teacher at the school who coordinated the event.

Streets extended a thank you to the parents and community members who volunteered to judge the projects.

"Given the quality of all of the projects, they had a difficult task, but they did a wonderful job selecting the school winners,” added Streets.

The thirteen Harrison winners will advance to the Chatham County Fair along with school winners from other schools across the district. The County Science Fair awards ceremony will be held on February 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jordan Matthews High School auditorium.

The Harrison winners are:

1st Place - Riley Wolfgang (1st grade)
2nd Place - Becca Heilman (3rd grade)
3rd Place - Kaylee Tugwell (2nd grade)
Honorable Mention - Mrs. Coleman's Class (2nd grade)

1st Place - Moli Eddins (5th grade)
2nd Place - Hannah Holloway (5th grade)
3rd Place - Evelyn and Anna Coleman (3rd and 4th grades)
Honorable Mention - Cameron Terrell (5th grade)

1st Place - Alec Tidwell (7th grade)
2nd Place - Jamal Baines and Trey Edward (7th grade)
3rd Place - Ashton Scott and John Wieland (7th grade)
Honorable Mention - Aaric Artis and Jeff Forbes (7th grade)
Sarah Rolleri (7th grade)
