Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood High School Arts Education Department and Arts Education Foundation presents the first concert of the 2010-2011 school year on Tuesday, November 9th at 7 p.m. in the Benjamin J. Lee Auditorium.

Thirty-five VOICES, under the direction of Mrs. Marilyn Shugart, will present a musical tribute for Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving, and will perform joint collaborations with the NHS Dance Ensemble, under the direction of Ms. Leah Smith, on the group Toto's 1980's hit, "Africa" and on "Hairspray," a medley from the broadway show and movie set in the early 1960's Civil Rights Era. In addition, the fifty NHS guitars will perform.

Admission is $2.00 and will directly benefit the NHS Choral and Guitar programs.

During the concert, new Tri-M (Modern Music Masters) Honor Society inductees and the choral students who have been selected to represent NHS at the All-State Choral Event in Greensboro in January will be announced.
