What to bring:

Pen and pad to take notes

List of questions to ask the college reps

Backpack or bag to collect brochures

Self-stick labels with your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, high school, year of graduation and intended major. You can place these on the information cards instead of writing them out for each college.

Plan ahead
Look over the list of college fair participants before coming and choose which colleges you are most interested in learning about.
At the fair

Resist the temptation to "cruise" the fair.

Ask lots of questions and take notes.

Use self-stick labels for inquiry cards and get on their mailing list.

Make a good impression (many times college reps will remember you).

Get the names and contact information of the reps you meet.

 Have fun!

Following up

Read the brochures and notes you collected from the fair.

Continue researching schools. Check out the college's website.

Contact schools you are interested in who were not represented at the fair.

Schedule visits to colleges. Check out visiting colleges on the web site for useful questions.
