Pittsboro, NC - The Northwood High School Marching Chargers recently participated in the fourth annual West Stokes Wildcat Invitational held in King, North Carolina. The Chargers placed third overall and received several trophies. The color guard placed first in both the AA Division and general effect. A second place trophy was also presented to the Chargers for music.

"The band has worked hard this year on a very entertaining and difficult show. We did well but I think and the kids know that we could have done better. It was great to start our year with a first place win in general effect and an especially rewarding first place in color guard. I am so very proud of those young ladies in the guard. An 83.9 overall band score is a great score to start at and a really good number to build on. If you haven't seen our show yet, you owe it to yourself to come out and watch the band perform," said band director, Eugene Cottrell.
