Northwood announces art show and National Art Honor Society induction evening

Pittsboro, NC - The ninth annual Northwood High School senior and student art exhibit will be held on Saturday, May 30, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Northwood lobby and cafeteria. General admission is $4.00. Children under 10 years of age will be admitted for free. Cake and punch will be served after the art awards. A National Art Honor Society induction will follow from 7:00 -8:00 p.m.

“We will unveil and dedicate Northwood's newest mural designed and painted by Kate Absher. The Art Honor Society created the mosaic tiles that border the lovely scene of the Jordan Lake Mural.

Briar Chapel awarded Northwood with an artist in residence this year. Braima Moiwai taught the students the art of stitched batik from home county Sierra Leone. The quilt and Gara cloth created by the art classes and French III will be on display at the art show
