Siler City, NC - SAGE Academy, the alternative high school in Siler City, welcomed a new principal, Ingrid Bimbo, to campus on Thursday, August 4. Bimbo follows retiring administrator Wade Lehman in the position. She will also be the administrator in charge of the Paul Braxton Pre-K program, housed at a different location in Siler City.

Bimbo has an extensive educational background that focuses on working with students who have special needs. She has taught at elementary, middle, and high school levels. In addition to her positions in public school systems, Bimbo has worked in hospital education settings. From 2000-2002 she served as the Exceptional Children Coordinator for Durham Public Schools. From 2002 until coming to Chatham County Schools, Bimbo was an assistant principal at C.E. Jordan High School in Durham.

“I am very excited and privileged to lead SAGE Academy and Paul Braxton Pre-school in the upcoming school year. School staff and I recognize the responsibility to educate the whole student by providing opportunities for learning and growth and to encourage students of all ages to achieve to their full potential intellectually, culturally, socially, and physically. I welcome the opportunity for change and the new challenges of an ever increasing diverse student population and growing community in Chatham County. I look forward working together with staff, students, parents, and community members to assist in providing a nurturing, positive, and sound academic program for both schools,” said Bimbo.
