Pittsboro, NC - On Monday, November 19, ABC11 sports anchor Mark Armstrong spoke to students in Brian Smith’s seventh grade language arts class at Margaret B. Pollard Middle School. He has been with ABC11 since October of 2004 and is featured at 6pm and 11pm.
Armstrong emphasized how writing is a huge part of broadcasting the news. He also explained how using descriptive words sets you apart from others in a world where there is such heavy competition. “The language of sports is the most lush language there is,” Armstrong said.
“I always enjoy watching the news channel which uses a lot of descriptive words when talking about a sporting event or just a news story in general,” said Smith.
