J.S. Waters students participate in Lions International peace poster contest

Goldston, NC - Students at J.S. Waters School were recently able to participate in a Peace Poster Contest sponsored by the Goldston Lions Club and Lions International. Contestants were asked to created a poster that visually communicated the theme, "Vision of Peace." Students ages eleven to thirteen were eligible to partipate.

Barbara Townsend, art teacher at J. S. Waters, coordinated the contest with the local Lions chapter members. Contestants from J. S. Waters included sixth graders Alexis Yarborough, Nick Oldham, Layne Moore, & Carmyn Johnson. Contest winner Layne Rae Moore and recipient of the $50 prize will represent J. S. Waters School and the Goldston Lions Club at the district level of competition

The Peace Poster Contest is an annual contest of Lions International.
