Siler City, NC - J.S. Waters School held its annual kindergarten screening on Wednesday, May 5. Eighteen students and their parents showed up for this event. Teachers Adina Oldham and Sonja Kitchings conducted the screenings while other staff members were with the parents.

At the end of the event Riley Maynor and Connor Kitchings decided that they wanted souvenirs from their day, balloons.

"I have never seen such an excited group of youngster ready to start school. Thanks to all the staff members that made this a memorable event for the students. I am looking forward to kindergarten next year," commented Principal Beverly Browne.

Elementary schools across the district hold registration, screening and orientation sessions each year for incoming kindergarten students.
