J.S. Waters holds Junior Beta Club induction

Goldston, NC - J.S. Waters held its annual Junior Beta Club induction ceremony on Friday, March 9. Seventeen new members were inducted. To be eligible for Junior Beta Club, students in grades six through eight must have an overall average of ninety-three or above in the four core subjects of math, language arts, Science, and social studies. Students must also possess and exhibit good character traits and maintain exemplary behavior in and outside the classroom.

The 2007 J.S. Waters Junior Beta Club inductees were:

Dylan Allison, Tori Barrett, Ashley Collins, Monique Cotton, Maegan Cox, Seth Elkins, Lauren Ellison, Ethan Mason, Cade McIntyre, Dalton Moore, Kelsi Needham, Ashleigh Oldham, Cayley Oldham, Shelby Roberts, Daniel Scribner, Heath Shaw, Mack Shehee

To remain a Beta member, students must maintain an overall average of ninety or above and complete required service hours. The J.S. Waters Junior Beta Club chapter presently has thirty-five members.

The J.S. Waters Junior Beta chapter participates in Relay for Life, canned food drives, Goldston Fire Department fundraisers, and Hart's Pumpkin Farm annual pumpkin festival. Members also tutor peers and help with projects at the school.

The club advisors are Robbie Sirls, Autumn Oldham, and Lynda Burke.
