Jordan-Matthews plans rising ninth grade orientation night

On Tuesday, March 15, Jordan-Matthews High School will host an Orientation Night for rising ninth graders. All incoming freshmen for the 2005-2006 school year and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend. The event will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the school auditorium.

The program will consist of:
1) Expectations for freshmen - Principal David Moody
2) NC Courses of Study, graduation requirements, and NC Academic Scholars program - Guidance counselors Margaret Grayson and Tammy Morris
3) Honors and Advanced Placement courses versus college prep courses - Department Chairs (Patricia Ritter - Math), Victoria Raymond - Science, Sue Vestal - English, and Lisa Morse - History
4) Getting involved at Jordan-Matthews - representatives from the Jordan-Matthews PTA and boosters
5) Guided tours of the school
