Raleigh, NC - The Horton eighth grade chorus attended the North Carolina Middle School Choral Festival on Thursday, March 16, at Ligon Middle School in Raleigh.

The students performed two contrasting selections for three judges. The students were judged on various elements of choral singing including diction, tone production, and musical expression. The scores were then totaled for an overall score that places groups at various achievement levels. Horton's performance earned the group a superior rating, the highest rating possible.

"These students have worked extremely hard this entire year, and it was nice to see their efforts recognized in the music community. Please be sure to congratulate them when you see them," commented Megan Bender, choral director.
