Moncure, NC - The Moncure School PTA held its first "Guy's Night Out" event on Friday, January 26, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the school gymnasium. The event was an evening for all Moncure male students and their fathers, grandfathers, and/or male guardians to come and enjoy an evening of basketball, relay races, pizza and prizes. Over sixty males took part in the event.

The PTA asked the parents/guardians attend the "Guys Night Out" to provide role models and mentors for male students at Moncure. The PTA also wanted to express its appreciation for those males being involved in their child(ren)'s education and to encourage them to become involved in the Moncure PTA.

“By participating in this event, it let our male students know that there are males in the community that really care about them and want to see them succeed in life. Moncure School PTA would like to thank everyone who came out to our first "Guys Night Out" event. Thank you for supporting Moncure School, but an even bigger thank you for supporting our male students at Moncure,” said Ann Godwin, Moncure PTA president.

The PTA will sponsor a "Girls Night Out" event on Friday, February 9.
