Five Chatham teachers complete Master of Education

Chatham County, NC - Five Chatham County teachers graduated from the Master of Education for Experienced Teachers in the Literacy Program, May 11. This graduation is the culmination of two years of study at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill through a partnership between the university and Chatham County Schools that began in 2001.

This literacy program prepares teachers to serve as reading specialists or literacy coaches. These teachers have been attending the program since May, 2006 and will complete their course work on June 19. The teachers are Melissa Testa Jenkins (Silk Hope), Mary Dunson (Moncure), Beth Goldston (Chatham Central), Kelly Creed (Virginia Cross), and Debra Lasater (North Chatham).
