Siler City, NC - After school on Tuesday, November 16, school district employees, PTA/PTSO presidents and area elected officials recognized American Education Week through an event sponsored by the Chatham County Association of Educators.

During the “meet and greet” and reception, attendees were able to chat with State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. June Atkinson; the Honorable Speaker of the House Joe Hackney; Chatham County Board of Education Chair Deb McManus; Board of Education members David Hamm, Gary Leonard, and Flint O’Brien; and Board of Education member-elect Del Turner.

“We enjoyed the opportunity to talk with our elected officials in an informal setting and appreciate their time commitment and support of education both at the state level and in Chatham County,” commented Edris Glover, a teacher at Jordan-Matthews and President of Chatham County Association of Educators.
