The Community Independent School (CIS) Board of Directors is very pleased to announce that Holly Baddour of Chatham County will be the school's first, full-time Business Director starting June 27th. After conducting a national search, it was determined the best candidate was already a part of the school community. Holly's eldest son currently attends CIS.

Holly will serve as Co-director with the Educational Director, Wendy Banning. In this new position, Holly will focus her considerable talents on marketing and fundraising with an eye towards expansion down the road.

Holly is a lifelong resident of this area and comes to the school after serving for seven years as the Executive Director of a nonprofit organization in Chatham County (Chatham Social Health Council) where she increased the annual budget 18 fold and grew the staff from one to seven positions. She is skilled in grant writing, marketing, fundraising and community building and her network of contacts in the area will serve CIS well as she embarks on these same tasks for CIS.

Having her son at CIS truly connects her to the mission of the school and enhances her passion for its overall success. "I have seen a brilliance emerge in the children who attend this school, and I am absolutely thrilled at the idea of a convergence of my family and professional life," Holly said in looking forward to her new beginning at Community Independent School.

Community Independent School is a non-profit organization providing a private educational environment for Pre-K through 4th graders. The school has openings available for fall and is located at 2089 Lamont Norwood Rd. in North Chatham County. Some children look out at the CIS they reach for them. 919-932-6313.
