Pittsboro, NC - Due to extremely low early morning temperatures forecast for Friday, January 16, Chatham County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay for students. All faculty and staff should report to work at their regular times.
The decision was made primarily because of many early bus routes that the district has and a concern about students being outdoors in the pre-dawn cold. Bus routes will run on a two-hour delay.
Each high school will notify their families about modifications to the final exam makeup schedule on Friday.
A bilingual Instant Alert message will be sent to all parents in the district this afternoon.
