Pittsboro, NC - Beverly Browne will follow Gary Yoder as principal of J.S. Waters School. Browne spent four years as principal of Perry Harrison School and, during the 2006-2007 school year, was on loan to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as an assistance team leader.

“I am very elated to be back in Chatham County. I am particularly excited to be the new principal of J.S. Waters. This school is such a special place with strong staff and community support. I could not have asked for a better placement,” said Browne.

“We're glad to have Beverly back with us. She is an experienced administrator with strong kindergarten through eighth grade experience, having served as principal of Harrison and earlier as assistant principal at Silk Hope,” said Dr. Ann Hart, Superintendent.

Chad Morgan will move from the assistant principal position at Chatham Middle School to the assistant principal position at Silk Hope School. He replaces Thad Urban, who left to return to his native state of Pennsylvania.

Daniel Haithcox, assistant principal at Horton Middle School, has resigned to take a position as an assistant principal at Union Pines High School in Moore County Schools.

In the area of athletics, Gary Oakley will take over athletic director duties at Northwood High School. He will replace Bill Hall, who continues to teach and coach at the school. Freddie Little is the new athletic director at Chatham Central High School. He replaces Gary Leonard, who retired.
