Chatham has highest VoCATS scores in region

Chatham County, NC - The 2006-07 VoCATS scores of students in Chatham County Schools were the highest of all the twenty-two school districts in the East Central Region. Chatham had a success rate of 76 percent. The East Central Region average was 66.3 percent while the state average was 67.6 percent. The Chatham scores rank eighteenth in the state.

The VoCATS scores in Chatham County Schools improved by 3.9 percent from 2005-06 when the average score was 72.1 percent.

“The Career and Technical Education (CTE) students in Chatham County continue to excel. The entire faculty and staff are very proud of the accomplishments of our CTE students. The CTE teachers and staff are to be commended on their dedication in working with our students,” said Robin Parks, Director of Career and Technical Education.

Chatham County Schools offers four courses in Career and Technical Education in middle school grades and over fifty courses in high school grades. VoCATS refers to the end-of-course exam given in all Career and Technical Education courses.
