North Carolina announces Chatham County dropout rates

Chatham County, NC - The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education announced student dropout rates from the 2004-2005 school year on Wednesday, March 1.

The annual dropout rate for the state of North Carolina was 4.74 percent in grades nine through twelve. The dropout rate in Chatham County Schools of students in grades nine through twelve was 4.50 or 108 students. That's down from 5.25 -- 125 students -- the year before.

The annual dropout rate for the state of North Carolina was 3.23 percent in grades seven through twelve. The dropout rate in Chatham County Schools of students in grades seven through twelve was 3.11 percent.
