Bear Creek, NC - The Chatham Central High School Senior Beta Club held its second American Red Cross Blood Drive of the 2010-11 school year on Wednesday, March 30. 151 students, faculty and community members were present to donate. 136 productive pints of blood were collected. There were thirty-seven first-time donors.

This semi-annual event is one of the major service projects of the school's Senior Beta Club chapter. Members of the club recruit donors, provide the canteen items for the donors, donate blood themselves, and assist the American Red Cross workers during the blood drive.

The Senior Beta Club is a service-oriented club with a motto of "Let us lead by serving others." The Chatham Central chapter has thirty-two members.

"Giving blood gives me the opportunity to help others and possibly save someone's life," commented junior Devin Brady.
