Bonlee, NC - On April 21, Preston Cox and John Thurman, students at Bonlee Elementary School, were selected as first place winners in their age category for an "My Dream for America Essay Contest" hosted by Liberty Tax Service. The contest was designed to see what children think of the country in which they are living, and to discover their dreams and vision for the future of the country.

Along with a certificate of excellence and ribbon, each student received $25 cash for his achievement.

"I wish everybody had money to buy food," wrote Preston Cox.

John Thurman stated, "I hope that the economy will get better so people could have jobs and that the government will give money back to the N.C. public schools."

This was the first year Liberty Tax Service sponsored the contest.
