Bonlee, NC - The assistant principal at Chatham Middle School has been named the new leader of Bonlee School.

Tracy Fowler will assume the principalship of Bonlee School on July 1 as Bonlee native and principal Ronnie Joyce retires. Fowler has been the assistant principal of Chatham Middle School in Siler City since 2001. She is licensed in elementary education, school counseling and middle grades social studies.

A 1993 graduate of Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., Fowler has taught language arts, math, and science at the middle school level. In 2001 she earned a Master of Education in School Counseling and in 2003 she completed a Master of School Administration, both from Campbell University. Fowler came to Chatham County Schools in 2000 as the guidance counselor at Chatham Middle School.

As she prepares to make the transition from Chatham Middle to Bonlee, Fowler noted “I have gained so much through the past five years at Chatham Middle. Mrs. Griffin gave me an opportunity and has been a wonderful mentor. I leave with some sadness, but more than that a feeling of being part of a family that I will never forget”.
