Siler City, NC - Sista Jakelin Bonilla, a senior at Jordan-Matthews High School, has been named a semifinalist for the Park Scholarship at North Carolina State University. Bonilla is one of 231 high school seniors from across the nation to be named.
The Park Scholarship provides a superb educational opportunity for exceptionally talented and well-prepared young men and women to develop leadership skills and civic awareness. The full cost of education, related expenses, and enrichment activities are all included in the scholarship.
Bonilla is active in Beta Club, DECA, and FLBA, and has participated in many church and community activities. She is an interpreter and assistant in the after school program at Siler City Elementary School, and is the daughter of Delmy and Oswaldo Contreras of Siler City.
"We are excited to have one of our best and brightest students honored in this way, and we will continue to encourage and support her in this process," said Norma Boone, principal at Jordan-Matthews.
