Pittsboro, NC - Chris Blice, the principal of Northwood High School, is the 2013 Chatham County Principal of the Year. Superintendent Robert Logan announced the award amid a cafeteria full of students on Monday, October 29, at the school.
Blice, who came to Northwood in 2008, is a three-time winner of the award at the county level. In 2010 he was the Chatham County and Wachovia Regional Principal of the Year for the Piedmont-Triad Central Region winner. While principal of Louisburg High School in Franklin County, he was the 2006 county recipient and regional winner for the Northern Region.

Blice will now compete at the regional level. Those winners go on to compete to be the State Principal of the Year.
Principals from the district are nominated by colleagues. The senior leadership team narrowed the group to three finalists, and a committee finalized the selection after conducting school visits with the finalists.
