Bennett, NC - During the week of May 19-23, Bennett School third graders did something special each day to prepare for the state-mandated end-of-grade (EOG) tests.

Mrs. Loflin's Third Grade

Monday (Day before EOG)

Students enjoyed frozen pops with the message "We will LICK the EOG!"

Tuesday (First Day)

Mrs. Powers's Third Grade

Each student was given a pair of wonderful star or heart sunglasses with a message:

"We're cool,
We're bright,
We'll do just right
On the test
'cause we know how to do our best"

Also each student was given a special blue rock with this poem:

With the blue stone
Upon your desk
Remember that you can
Ace the test!!

Wednesday

Each child received mini bag of microwave popcorn with this message:

Pop, Pop, Pop goes the popcorn,
Popping good, taste so good,
Just like what we will do
On the test.
We will do POPPING GOOD
And show our best!!!

Thursday

Each child received a brownie in the shape of a heart or star. With each brownie was a message related to the shape of the brownie.

As the stars shine bright
So will you
When you've completed
Your test and have
done your best!!
And then you will be ready for your summer's rest!!!

As your heart beats
So will you beat
the test
And be ready for your
Vacation rest!!!
