Judy Pick wins 2009 Outstanding Friend of Extension award

Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham County Center of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension recently held their Friends of Extension Awards Banquet, held annually to honor volunteers who have served the citizens of Chatham County through their work in Extension programs. This year, over 75 volunteers were honored with a homemade meal prepared by the Extension staff.

As part of the banquet, the Outstanding Friend of Extension Award is presented to a person or group demonstrating exemplary involvement and support for Cooperative Extension's educational programs. This year’s recipient was Judy Pick of Pittsboro.

Judy is an active member of the Chatham County Beekeepers Association and serves on the Extension Advisory Leadership System as a member of the Beekeeping Committee. Judy also volunteers many hours of her time each summer during the 4-H day camps.
