Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham County Public Health Department Clinic in Pittsboro has expanded its hours and services.
In announcing the expansion, Health Department Nursing Supervisor Shirley Cotten said,“We have had several requests from the general public on the east side of the county to expand the services offered at the Pittsboro site, and we are very excited to be able to offer these services.”
The following services will be available by appointment only. Fees will be on a sliding scale, based on income.
GENERAL CLINIC SERVICES provided by a public health nurse will be available every Tuesday morning from 8:00 am to noon and every Thursday afternoon from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Appointments are required. Services available include:
Blood pressure checks (with a medical provider order)
Vitamin B12 injections (with a medical provider order)
Pregnancy testing
Family planning services (other than exams):
Supply pick ups
Injections
Emergency contraception
TB (tuberculosis) screening and treatment
Childhood immunizations
Limited adult immunizations
Tetanus (Td)
Tetanus and pertussis (Tdap)
Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
Flu and pneumonia vaccinations
FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER SERVICES (medical provider) will be available every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. and will include:
Followups for abnormal pap smears
Breast and cervical cancer control program physical examinations
Family planning physical examinations (Initial and annual exams)
Followups related to family planning service needs
Sexually transmitted disease physical examinations
