Breast and cervical cancer control program

Pittsboro, NC - The Chatham County Public Health Department participates in the North Carolina Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP) which provides low or no cost breast and cervical screenings. This program is targeted toward women age 50 to 64 years old who meet the following eligibility guidelines:

¨ Not covered by Medicaid or Medicare Part B

¨ No insurance to cover these screenings

¨ Household income at r below 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines

A woman who meets the eligibility requirements may receive a pelvic and pap test, clinical breast exam, mammogram, and certain diagnostic services. If she is diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer through BCCCP, she may be eligible for treatment through Breast and Cervical Medicaid.
