Siler City, NC - Horizon Cellars, just south of Siler City, took home four medals in July at the Atlantic Seaboard Vinifera Wine Competition held in Leesburg, Va.

All four of the winery’s inaugural wines took home a medal in the winery’s first competition. The winery’s 2003 Viognier took home one of 13 gold medals and was named Best in Category. Three-hundred nineteen wines from 10 states were entered in the competition.

Horizon Cellars offers tastings for $2, which includes a Horizon Cellars tasting glass. The winery is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. For information and directions, see horizoncellars.com
